Our modular production plant is designed to be deployed at gas flaring sites around the world. It is a self-sustaining system that produces high-grade graphite and hydrogen while preventing harmful pollutants from being released into the atmosphere.
Producing battery-grade graphite in a clean and sustainable way.
The chemical mix of flared or vented gases comprises a number of toxic chemicals and the actual make-up of these elements depends upon the location of its geographical extraction.
The main challenge required PECO to determine how best to separate the chemical elements and then instigate Graphite and Hydrogen production utilising environmentally sound methods.
In order to achieve this, PECO processes the gases so as to separate the Methane from the other chemical elements. Once this is done, the Hydrogen content is also separated so that Graphite can then be produced from the remaining pure Methane.
The high-quality microporous grade Graphite produced will be suitable for Lithium-Ion battery and steel production and will be an environmentally friendly alternative to Graphite mining.
The PECO solution eliminates a highly polluting process by utilising solar energy to treat the gases along with fuel cell technology to convert a 160-year-old industry habit into a zero emissions process so that the resultant product can be classified as GREEN.
Furthermore, the current Graphite marketplace is Chinese controlled by up to 80% and the market price is determined by export restrictions with tariffs that control the market price. Utilising the PECO solution could theoretically disrupt the supply chain and potentially eliminate the need for the environmentally damaging and polluting activity caused from the mining of Graphite.
We can't do it by ourselves. We need help to make PECO a major contributor towards reducing global warming. Let's support our planet's future together.
